The mystery of the Sacred Heart- This One Thing Does Love Ask

Posted on May 14, 2008. Filed under: Uncategorized |

Just as Love withheld nothing of His Heart

in the sacrifice offered once from the Cross

so now, does Love withhold nothing of His Heart

in the sacrifice of the Eucharist,

nothing from the Father,

nothing from us.

All is given, and in this is the mystery of the Sacred Heart.

Dom Marmion on the Liturgy of the Hours

Posted on May 14, 2008. Filed under: Uncategorized |

The Liturgy of the Hours is the ‘voice of the Bride addressing the Bridegroom’;
and when we recite it, we stand before the throne of God
in the name of our Mother the Church.
When we recite the Divine Office for the whole Church in union with Christ Jesus,
we labor for the salvation and sanctification of souls
in a measure we cannot comprehend.
-Dom Marmion, OSB

Memorare of Our Lady of the Precious Blood

Posted on May 14, 2008. Filed under: Uncategorized |

REMEMBER, O Lady of the Precious Blood,

the sorrowful Sheddings of the Blood of thy Jesus
and the most bitter tears thou didst mingle
with His Redeeming Blood.
In the name of the Blood of the Victim of Reparation
and of thy holy tears;
in the name of the seven swords which pierced thy heart,
by which thou didst become the Mediatrix of all graces
for the human race and the Queen of Martyrs,
have pity on my soul and on all its miseries;
have pity on sinners and on the innocent souls they seek to pervert;
have pity on the poor, the sick, the infirm,
on all their sufferings, both physical and moral;
have pity on the agonizing,
especially upon those who, except for thine intercession,
would leave this world without being purified in the Blood of the Lamb.
It is by the Blood of thy Dying Son,
by His inexpressible Sufferings,
by His last plea to His Father in favor of mankind,
by His ignominious Death
and by the perpetuation of His Sacrifice on Catholic Altars,
that I beg thee not to reject my supplications,
but graciously to hear them.
Amen.

MAY 13TH: OUR LADY OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT/ OUR LADY OF FATIMA

MAY 13TH: OUR LADY OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT/ OUR LADY OF FATIMA
OUR LADY OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
This title was given to our Blessed Mother in May 1868 by Saint Peter Julian Eymard to honor her in her relationship to the Holy Eucharist and to place her before us as a model in our duties and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. Our Lady gives witness to being Christian. In her conduct toward the Blessed Sacrament, we learn what ours should be!
She believed in the reality of Christ’s presence in the Holy Eucharist. In other words, the virtue of faith was as necessary for her as it is for us. Great was her faith in her son, the Son of God, our Savior, and in all his teachings and deeds. This faith of hers found its particular exercise in regard to the Blessed Sacrament, the mystery of faith, the denial of which implies the destruction of the whole structure of our belief.
A second point in which Mary conformed to the general body of the faithful was her Sunday attendance at the Eucharist. And still another point in which the Blessed Virgin is our model is in her reception of Holy Communion during her life, and at the moment of her death. By her faith in and her love for our Lord in the Eucharist, Mary is an example for Christians and thereby brings us to fervent devotion to him.
Truly, we can call Mary, Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, and follow her faith and love for Jesus in the Eucharist. Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament is the chosen and official patroness of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. Her feast day is celebrated on May 13, the date on which the new Congregation received Archdiocesan approbation in Paris in 1856.

Lord, in Your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope…

Yet thou, in thy mercies, didst not leave them in the desert:
the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day to lead them in the way,
and the pillar of fire by night to shew them the way by which they should go. 19

And thou gavest them thy good Spirit to teach them, and
thy manna thou didst not withold from their mouth and thou gavest them
water for their thirst…… 20

But they provoked thee to wrath, and departed from thee,
and threw thy law behind their backs:
and they killed thy prophets,
who admonished them earnestly to return to thee:
and they were guilty of great blasphemies. 26

And thou gavest them into the hands of their enemies,
and they afflicted them.
And in the time of their tribulation they cried to thee,
and thou heardest from heaven,
and according to the multitude of thy tender mercies
thou gavest them saviours, to save them from the hands of their enemies. 27

But after they had rest, they returned to do evil in thy sight:
and thou leftest them
in the hand of their enemies and they had
dominion over them…… 28

Yet in thy very many mercies thou didst not utterly consume them,
nor forsake them: because thou art a merciful and gracious God. 31

(Nehemias) 2 Esdras Chpt 9

“Pray, pray very much, and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to hell because there is nobody to make sacrifices and to pray for them.” -Our Lady of Fatima

“Receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men. Repair their sins and console your God!” -Angel to the children at Fatima
