Continue to pay attention as you would to a light that shines in a dark place as you wait for day to come – 1 Peter 19 July13,2008
made known to you the power,
and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ;
but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
(we did make known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ)
for he received from God the Father
honor and glory,
when there was borne such a voice to him
by the Majestic Glory
This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased,
in whom I have found my delight,
whom I love and in whom I delight.
And we ourselves heard this utterance
made from heaven when we were with Him
on the holy mountain
So we regard the words of the prophets
as confirmed beyond all doubt.
You’re doing well by paying attention to their words.
Continue to pay attention as you would
to a light that shines in a dark place as you
wait for day to come
and the morning star to rise in your hearts.
Understanding this first,
that no prophecy of scripture
is made by private interpretation.
For prophecy came not by the will of man
at any time: but the holy men of God spoke,
inspired by the Holy Ghost.
But false prophets also arose among the people,
just as there will also be false teachers among you,
who will secretly introduce destructive heresies,
even denying the Master who bought them,
bringing swift destruction upon themselves
who privately shall bring in damnable heresies,
who will secretly put forward wrong teachings
for your destruction,
even turning away from the Lord who gave himself for them;
But there were also false prophets among the people,
even as there shall be among you lying teachers,
who shall bring in sects of perdition,
and deny the Lord who bought them:
False prophets were among God’s people in the past,
as false teachers will be among you.
They will secretly bring in their own destructive teachings.
They will deny the Lord, who has bought them,
who will cunningly introduce fatal divisions,
disowning even the Sovereign Lord who has redeemed them,
Many will follow their sensuality,
and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned.
And many shall follow their riotousnesses,
through whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways,
And many shall follow their lascivious doings,
And a great number will go with them in their evil ways,
through whom the true way will have a bad name.
Many people will follow them in their sexual freedom
and will cause others to dishonor the way of truth.
And in their immoral ways they will have many eager disciples,
through whom religion will be brought into disrepute.
And many shall follow their dissolute ways,
through whom the way of the truth shall be blasphemed.
and many shall follow out their destructive ways,
because of whom the way of the truth shall be evil spoken of,
et multi sequentur eorum luxurias per quos via veritatis blasphemabitur
and in their greed they will exploit you with false words;
their judgment from long ago is not idle,
and their destruction is not asleep.
et in avaritia fictis verbis de vobis negotiabuntur quibus iudicium iam olim
non cessat et perditio eorum non dormitat
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words
make merchandise of you
And in their desire for profit they will come to you
with words of deceit, like traders doing business in souls:
whose punishment has been ready for a long time
and their destruction is watching for them.
